About The Acoustic Energy AE320 Floorstanding Speakers
The Acoustic Energy AE320 is a slim-line floorstanding loudspeaker that sports three brand new ceramic aluminium sandwich midrange & bass cones which offer vivid midrange openness and extended bass slam with impressive power handling. Combined with a wide output slot rear port, the AE320's are extremely flexible loudspeakers for use in medium to larger spaces.
Heading up the 300 Series, the new AE320 is a true 3-way slim-line floor-standing loudspeaker with compact dimensions suitable for medium to large sized rooms. The AE320 uses three latest generation 130mm drivers, one mid-range and two bass only units. Featuring AE's own design ceramic aluminium sandwich cone (specially developed for the 300 Series) with an ultra-shallow profile and high force, long throw motor system, this new driver boasts improved dispersion, extended bass slam and overall power handling.
The 28mm aluminium tweeter offers high power handling and a low fundamental resonance to reduce distortion. However, the main benefit to this new design is the excellent dispersion characteristics thanks to Acoustic Energy's Wide Dispersion Technology waveguides. The waveguides shape the acoustic output of the tweeter to match the woofer and provide a wider sweet spot in the listening environment.
The inert, 18mm high density MDF cabinet utilises proprietary bracing technology derived from the award-winning Reference Series, to reduce cabinet colouration and allow the new transducers to breathe freely within the listening environment. The slot shaped duct port on the rear of the speaker augments the bass output and has been carefully developed to reduce the effect of air turbulence with a clean, undistorted bass performance. The base of the cabinet is pre-loaded with an inert mass material which adds damping and reduces cabinet colouration. The mass loading coupled with 8mm floor spikes help stability and provide a solid foundation for the drive units to operate without resonances from the cabinet interacting with the floor surface.

The new 300 Series features multiple upgrades over the entry-level 100 Series, all designed to improve both audio performance and aesthetics, befitting of its more premium status. Bespoke new drive units have been designed in tandem to offer seamless tonal integration in addition to low distortion and high power handling benefits. The 28mm (1.1") aluminium dome tweeter also features AE's WDT Wide Dispersion Technology™ and a re-designed 130mm (5") aluminium midrange and bass drivers uses a ceramic aluminium sandwich cone and long throw motor system. The seamless cabinet enclosures boast an inert 18mm high density MDF material with proprietary internal bracing technology to reduce cabinet colouration. They're finished in attractive real open grain walnut wood veneer, piano grade high gloss black or white lacquer options.

Our Take On The Acoustic Energy AE320 Floorstanding Speakers
Not too big, not too small, not too expensive, they could have called this the goldilocks speaker and we all would have nodded in approval. This is a great example of a slim-line floorstanding speaker that sounds evenly balanced from top to bottom, has oodles of bass extension & slam and is attractive enough to fit into almost any interior. The AE300 is one of our best-selling bookshelf speakers and it looks like the AE320 is going to do the same thing in the floorstanding arena.
