About The Cambridge Audio Evo 150 All-In-One-Player
Cambridge Audio proudly present tomorrow’s hi-fi, today. With Evo 150, they have brought your audio past and present into the future. With outstanding Hypex NCore Class D amplification and their class-leading StreamMagic music streaming platform on board, all you need to do is add speakers to enjoy superb high-resolution audio quality from one elegant, discreet box. And thanks to its suite of digital and analogue inputs, as well as its high-quality digital-to-analogue convertor, Evo can be the heart of your hi-fi system for years to come.
All-In-One Simplicity – Just Add Speakers: Combining streaming smarts and high-class amplification in one box means Evo only needs wiring to mains power and to speakers to serve up thrilling sound quality. Streaming music from Evo means saying ‘goodbye’ to metres and metres of connection cables, and ‘hello’ to intuitive, straightforward functionality in one sleek, good-looking box.
Easy To Set Up, Easy To Use: It couldn’t be simpler. Plug Evo into the mains, wire it to your speakers. Then fire up your favourite music streaming service on a smartphone, tablet or wherever and connect to Evo using the app, Bluetooth or Evo’s built-in streaming service support. Pick a tune, press ‘play’ and adjust the volume to your taste. Thanks to Evo’s big 6.8” (172mm) high-resolution display, you can even enjoy bright, clear and detailed album artwork when you’re listening to a streaming service.
StreamMagic App: The StreamMagic app offers comprehensive control of the entire Evo system, plus access to the world’s most popular and highest-quality music streaming services. It’s clear, logical and stable - so Evo will do precisely what you want it to, rapidly and accurately, from wherever you are in your home.
Designed and engineered by Cambridge Audio’s talented team at their London HQ, they’ve built the StreamMagic module in-house, from the ground up. The StreamMagic module has been at the heart of Cambridge Audio’s award-winning Network Audio Streamers since 2011. So, whether you’re listening to streaming services, sending tracks from your mobile devices via Airplay or Chromecast built-in, or just browsing a NAS drive with a mixture of audio file-types from MP3 to DSD, StreamMagic has got you covered.
Of course, you might prefer the app of your favourite music streaming service - if that’s your preference, no problem. Evo will be just as responsive to your inputs and commands.
Great Connectivity: Thanks to its suite of digital and analogue inputs, Evo is ready for you to add your favourite sources - a turntable, say, or CD player - and build a wider system. Even video sources can join in - just connect your TV’s HDMI ARC output to Evo’s ARC input. No matter where your music’s coming from, Evo will make it sound its best.
Bluetooth Convenience - HD Sound Quality: Nothing’s easier or simpler than streaming via Bluetooth. Evo takes it to the max by using aptX HD Bluetooth - which is wireless, high-definition music streaming with flawless transmission and incredibly realistic, convincing sound from compatible aptX HD enabled devices. Evo delivers all the wireless convenience you want, with none of the sonic compromises.
Great For Record Players: Everyone seems to be playing records these days. Perhaps they are channelling their inner DJ or maybe they just appreciate the involving nature of playing vinyl. Whatever the reason, if you want to connect a turntable, the Evo 150’s built-in phono stage is perfectly suited to get the best out of your records and put a big wide smile on your face.
Free Your Headphones: Sometimes it’s not appropriate to be blasting sound at concert levels. Sometimes you need some private listening time that only you can hear. The Evo offers a quality headphone solution. In fact it’s way more versatile than you would imagine. As well as featuring a 3.5mm output for headphones, Evo is also a Bluetooth transmitter - so if you’d rather do your private listening on wireless headphones, Evo has you covered. Now that’s convenience.
Great British Sound: Cambridge Audio have been making world class audio products for quite a while now. Long enough to have coined a phrase for the sound they are always looking for – the Great British Sound. Although Evo is an evolution into a completely differently category of product, Cambridge Audio have not only used the very best components, such as ESS Sabre 32bit high resolution DACs, but they have also brought every one of their 50+ years of audio design and engineering know-how to bear to ensure the Evo carries on the tradition of Great British Sound they are renowned for.
Complete Control: Some streaming products have no physical interface options at all. It’s either the smart device App or nothing. But Cambridge Audio like to do things a little bit differently, and give you options. Evo couldn’t be more intuitive and straightforward to operate, whether you’re using its full-function remote control, its simple and elegant control App, or the physical controls and big, bright, detailed display on its fascia. The choice is yours – how convenient.
Neat & Easy Placement: Just 305mm wide, Evo is elegant and discrete and will sit neatly wherever you need it to. But thanks to its beautiful design and all-around good looks, it really deserves centre-stage. So, Cambridge Audio have provided a way to give your Evo a little individuality. Provided in the box are two sets of magnetically attached side panels. So, whether you’re in the mood for classically good looking wooden side panels or a more modern sculptural black look, your Evo will fit into your décor like it was always meant to be there.
Review Of The Cambridge Audio Evo 150
“I’m genuinely impressed. Cambridge Audio have managed to fit everything aside from the kitchen sink, and it sounds pretty darn amazing. The neutral tone that we’ve come to expect from Cambridge means that this impressively small box manages to work with pretty much any genre/artist/album and still deliver a consistently phenomenal listening experience.
When you then remember that it’s got a complete range of inputs, physical and digital, you realise that this is a very handy multitasker. If you’re looking to have not only a high end hi-fi experience, but also a particularly fluid streaming platform and/or a replacement for your TV sound then I’d be giving this some very serious thought. I can’t recommend listening to this delightful piece of kit enough.” Richer Sounds
