Technology Backed by Science
Tweeters: Paradigm X-PAL Pure-Aluminium Dome Tweeters with exclusive Perforated Phase-Aligning (PPA) Lens. This patent pending design acts as a refined phase plug, blocking a wide range of out-of-phase frequencies which increases and smooths output without colouring the sound. Both visually stunning and functional, Paradigm's signature PPA Lens technology improves performance while also protecting the tweeter from getting damaged.
Mid/Bass Drivers: High-performance mineral-filled polypropylene cones with inverted dust caps are lightweight and rigid. Downroll surrounds give them a clean, low-profile look.
Enclosures: Beautiful Monitor SE speaker cabinets, with their unmistakably European fit and finish, complement today's most stylish décor. The Paradigm Monitor SE is available in high-gloss white or a matte black finish.

"One aspect of these speakers that has not been overlooked is their basic linearity. They play incredibly loud for a small speaker, yet at low level, they hold the stereo image together, remaining highly involving. Again, something that a number of high price/high pedigree speakers can not accomplish.
Paradigm has trimmed the budget in all the right places. The cabinets and binding posts (i.e. all the fancy stuff) are functional, with a matte finish. Not a penny has been wasted on unnecessary bling – all the performance is inside the box. And the more time spent listening to the Monitor SE Atom, the more we are all convinced that these are incredibly easy speakers to live with.
Finally, the Atoms are very easy to set up. Thanks to very wide dispersion, they pass the "just throw them anywhere in the room and go" test with ease. And they do it on budget speaker stands. Those wanting every last bit of performance these speakers have to offer, will get a bigger stereo image and a bit more low frequency extension by putting them on more massive stands and spending about 30 minutes fine tuning speaker placement. But you don't have to go through it to fall in love with these speakers.
Just as Paradigm set the high-end world on its ear two years ago with their Persona speakers, delivering six figure sound for about $30k a pair, they return to their roots with the Monitor SE Atom. I've heard a lot of budget speakers and most of them are rubbish. These little Paradigms are high quality compact speakers. I dare you to find better. And here we were thinking that the Paradigm Monitor Series would be a hard act to follow. Ha! Paradigm seems to pull off the impossible with consummate ease and has dished up the next level in affordable speakers with the Monitor SE Series. And of course the Review by Jeff at Tone Magazine - see above - really says it all. Audio Trends has also sold Paradigm Atom's for around 10 years and we agree that they are stylish, smooth dynamic sound, great finishes, good proportions and very fair prices make this Monitor SE range the go to speaker at anywhere near this price point.
