About The REL Arrow
Arrow is REL's proprietary, lossless wireless transmission system which connects quickly and simply to all REL Series Ti and Tx Series Subwoofers.
REL prefer to refine, to build generationally upon a solid foundation while searching relentlessly for every possible way to legitimately improve upon their past performance. With Ti Series Subwoofers, REL believe they have set a new standard for overall performance in this price category. However, REL are quickly growing into an industry leader in wireless systems. Following on the heels of the acclaimed LongBow Wireless, REL Arrow delivers much of the promise and connectivity of hardwired RELs with the placement flexibility and pure cool factor of great wireless for all the T/i Subs. For a reasonable sum, Arrow gives you the ability to place subs in distant corners, along glass walls, or on hardwood floors where a cable would otherwise destroy the effect.
Proven Performance - Reliable Connectivity: REL have quickly acquired a sterling reputation within the industry for delivering great sounding, reliable wireless delivery of the REL experience. The freedom this confers is manifold; it permits ultra high performance without the cumbersome tether of a cable, permits careful placement without being limited by the length of a wire and can lead to a better sounding, less cluttered experience.
Zero Compromise - Zero Compression: Arrow is REL's latest zero compression method of distributing wireless and delivers performance similar to REL's more expensive wireless systems quickly, reliably and without the thin, dried out sound most wireless systems deliver. In part, this is achieved by eliminating the often very slow delivery methods offered by off-the-shelf Bluetooth and wi-fi based systems. Arrow represents something of a cost breakthrough as it uses LSI (large scale integrated circuit chips) technology to lower the cost of the system by about 30% while preserving almost all the performance.
High-Level - Theatre or Stereo: Arrow permits simultaneous distribution of REL's vaunted High-Level connection AND the .1/LFE needed for high quality home theatre. In this way, both 2-channel music and multi-channel theatre are supported without the need for connecting and disconnecting one's REL. The High-Level input is designed to accept the stereo (two-channel) signals from the speaker terminals of your receiver, integrated amplifier or basic amplifier. This has the advantage of ensuring that your subwoofer receives exactly the same signal as the main speakers, which means that the character of the bass from the main system is carried forward into the Sub-Bass System. This is a very important point and together with REL's Natural Roll Off circuitry, ensures far superior system integration of the Sub-Bass System with the main system.
Give It Five Seconds - The Simple Toggle: Perfect Pair: Most people find fiddling with computer pairing frustrating, so REL's designers tasked their engineers with reducing pairing to just two simple toggle switches. Total set-up time? About 10 seconds to enjoy high performance bass, freed from the restrictions of cables.
About REL
REL was founded in 1990 in Bridge End, Wales, UK by Richard E Lord and for the last 30 plus years REL has been developing better and better subwoofers designed to bring the ultimate bass response to your stereo or home theatre system, regardless of budget.
But lots of companies make subwoofers, so what makes REL special? Well for starters, they ONLY make subwoofers, whereas almost every other company make a range of products, including subwoofers. You can guess which company pays subwoofer development the most attention. Also most REL subwoofers are designed for music systems and have two very unique features. The first is the High Level Input which brings the signal in from the amplifier's speaker outputs so the signal your subwoofer is seeing is the same as the one your speakers are seeing. This means the subwoofer has a much better chance of sounding like an extension of your speakers.
The second unique feature is the lightning fast filters which REL have developed which allow REL subwoofers to be as quick as your speakers. To illustrate, a typical loudspeaker has a response time of 4ms (milliseconds), whereas most subwoofers have a response time between 37ms & 80ms. No wonder most subwoofers sound as slow as a wet week. By contrast the response times of a REL Subwoofer vary between 9ms for the Serie T, 7ms for the Serie S and a loudspeaker-equalling 4ms for the Reference series. On top of that, REL have some of the lightest most rigid cones found on any sub and some of the most powerful amplifiers, all housed in uniquely braced cabinets that ensure no cabinet resonances of any kind and no turbulence or noise inside the cabinet. Last, but certainly not least, REL subwoofers are some of the most harmoniously designed and downright good looking subwoofers on the planet, ensuring it's not just the bass response that brings a smile to your face.
