Yamaha YSP-2700 Soundbar
7.1-Channel Soundbar And Subwoofer
16 "Beam" Drivers Reflect Sound Off Walls To Deliver Lifelike Surround Effects
Auto Calibration System Optimises The Sound
The Yamaha YSP-2700 soundbar has achieved what many thought was an impossibility: 7.1 surround sound — true surround, not "virtual" — from a two-piece system. Truly space-saving, Yamaha's YSP-2700 will no doubt appeal to those after home theatre minimalism. Surprisingly it sounds a great deal bigger and convincing than its meagre dimensions suggest.
About Yamaha YSP-2700 Soundbar
The Yamaha YSP-2700 soundbar is based on the amazingly popular and award-winning YSP-2700. The main differences are (1) the addition of a bigger wireless subwoofer; (2) Yamaha's proprietary multi-room music system called MusicCast; (3) HDCP-2.2 and (4) compatibility with whole-home automation systems like Control4.
At just 51mm high (with stand removed) and 74mm with stand, this is one of the smallest soundbars in the world, allowing it to complement or tuck nicely under most flat panel TVs with thinner bezels and lower stands. Of course, wall-mounting is also an option, using a SPK-20 bracket - sold separately.
The YSP-2700 has five discrete sound beams that bounce off the walls to create an immersive listening experience. Inside it has 16 amplifiers and 16 speaker drivers, as well as Yamaha's own Intelli-Beam technology to calibrate the sound based on your room. It comes packed with the latest technology such as HDMI 2.0 - 3 inputs/1 output - and iPod connectivity to ensure compatibility with all your music and movie sources. 1080p is the best quality video your new Full HD panel can handle, and Yamaha is there ensuring that not only is the audio quality second-to-none (for a sound bar), but your visual experience is the same. Other features include Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio support, as well as 4K 50/60p pass-through.
Wireless Music Streaming with Bluetooth: Just in case you want to use the YSP-2700 for music (imagine that?), the unit also has Bluetooth and aptX support, so you can stream audio directly to the speaker from any smartphone, tablet or other compatible device and still experience the full surround sound experience. And with support for aptX™ audio coding, Bluetooth performance is better than ever, delivering full audio bandwidth for sound quality the same as wired listening with both compressed and non-compressed sources. In addition, a Bluetooth standby mode provides the convenience of having the YSP-2700 turn on and off automatically.
While you have that portable device out, consider downloading Yamaha's Home Theatre Controller app for iOS and Android devices. It can provide easy access to volume, inputs, surround modes, and more. Honestly, you just have to operate this stuff via your smart device because it makes operation so much easier.
Enjoy Audio From Any Source On The Yamaha MusicCast Network
MusicCast employs a high-performance wireless network to deliver music and audio enjoyment. It can stream digital music content from your smartphone, PC or NAS to other MusicCast devices in your home. It can also share the music from external devices such as a TV or Blu-ray Player connected to the YSP-2700. Audio content from Bluetooth smart phones or tablets can also be streamed to all MusicCast devices in multiple rooms. MusicCast is no gimmick and the product inventory is broad and growing all the time - the '2700 being one of the latest editions.
Fine Tuned Cinema DSP: The YSP-2700 also boasts the brand's well-regarded CinemaDSP technology for additional acoustic immersion and there are 10 different programs provided, all based on the acoustic properties of actual venues. Yamaha engineers travel the world recording actual sound field data in famous performance spaces, then applying ultra- sophisticated digital processing techniques for consumers to enjoy. Yamaha was the first to do this in the early 1990's and is still the leader in providing a truly realistic surround sound experience and are delighted to tell us that the YSP-2700 has been fine-tuned for a more hi-fi like performance.
7.1 Surround Technology: Yamaha has figured out the seeming impossible and that is 7.1 surround sound — true surround, not "virtual" from a two-piece system. This new technology can remarkably simulate even the surround-channel and surround-back-channel. The result of it is the clearly and amazingly identifiable sound sources from various directions and will enhance the sound of every flat panel TV we have ever had to deal with over the last few years.
UniVolume: UniVolume is a Yamaha-developed technology that maintains a consistent volume level between different channels, programs, commercials and input sources. For instance, when watching TV while using UniVolume, the volume of commercials will not be louder than the program being viewed. The same is true when switching sources to watch a DVD or Blu-ray movie or to listen to music on CD. This is particularly helpful for late night watching and listening when spikes in volume can disturb others in the house or apartment building.
The new YSP-2700 is a standout because it packs in something that only Yamaha can deliver: Digital Sound Projector technology and at a very attractive price. That feature means that this slim package can deliver true 7.1 surround sound - that's right, from a soundbar! It packs a far greater punch than many may expect from its small design delivering a home theatre system without masses of boxes. All you need to add are suitable video sources and a TV monitor and you're good to go. Downloading Yamaha's Controller app provide easy access to volume, inputs, surround modes, and more. As per the previous '2500, nothing comes close at the price.
