To round out the system, we also highly recommend IsoTek Power Cables to spice things up even further, and preferably one of their Power Boards too. Denon PMA-1700NE Integrated Amplifier/DAC
The PMA-1700NE, an integrated amplifier with a power output of 140W into 4 Ohms, features 'true audiophile' performance and support for high-resolution audio playback up to 11.2MHz DSD and 32-bit/384-kHz (when using the jitter-reducing USB-DAC input). Prefer a 12-inch platter to a stream of 1s and 0s? Vinyl lovers will be pleased to note that the PMA-1700NE boasts a built-in phono preamplifier that caters for both moving magnet and moving coil phono cartridges.
Elsewhere, there are coaxial & optical digital inputs (useful for older TVs) and Denon's substantial gold-plated analogue speaker terminals. And, the classic Denon "vibration-resistant" design is accented by an electric volume control for smoother adjustment of output levels. Denon DCD-1700NE CD/SACD Player
Are you in the market for an all-new, full-fat CD player? If so, you're in luck, because the Denon DCD-1700NE is a CD/SACD player capable of high-resolution audio playback, among many other features.
There hasn't been a bus-load of CD players being released in recent years, but disc-spinning fans will be glad to know that CDs are reportedly making a comeback. According to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), shipments of compact discs rose for the first time in 17 years in 2021, marking the first time CD sales were on the increase since 2004. The CD revival may not reach the same heights as the ever-growing vinyl revival, but we're glad to see serious new players hit the market.
The DCD-1700NE can handle playing just about any disc from CDs to SACDs, and even DVD-R/RWs and DVD+R/RWs that hold DSD and hi-res files (there's no separate USB input). As for hi-res support, the 1700NE can handle playback of up to 192kHz/24-bit PCM and 5.6MHz DSD. There are optical and coaxial outputs, and one fixed line level RCA output.
Thanks to Advanced AL32 Processing Plus and a proprietary S.V.H class disc drive, the 1700E can manage pristine, faithful playback with optimal accuracy, even restoring information that was lost during the original digital recording. Plus, the 1700E comes outfitted with carefully selected and tuned internal components evaluated by Denon with an eye toward the brand's distinctive sound.
What's more, the 1700E is designed to minimise the vibration of the chassis and reduce any adverse audio effects of the heavy, powerful components inside to maximize audio quality. Suffice it to say that this CD/SACD player is just about the full package of what you'd want out of a player.

The 705 S3 is B&W's ultimate 700 Series stand mount speaker, a no-holds-barred celebration of excellence able to highlight all the subtle nuances in your music that other speakers miss. Its Carbon Dome tweeter is housed in a Solid Body Tweeter-on-Top enclosure evolved from the latest generation of 800 Series Diamond. That joins a new and subtly curved baffle endowed with an all-new 'pod' housing for its Continuum Cone bass/midrange driver, ensuring that you hear less of the speaker's cabinet, and more of the music you love.
The 705 S3 features the latest generation of B&W's iconic Solid Body Tweeter-on-Top housing. The carefully decoupled housing is milled from a single solid block of aluminium to better resist resonance.
Carbon Dome tweeters are purpose-built for the 700 Series. Delivering a dramatic improvement on the aluminium double dome tweeter, they raise the breakup threshold to 47kHz, for pinpoint imaging accuracy and detail.
Thanks to its composite construction, the Continuum™ cone avoids the abrupt transitions in behaviour that can impair the performance of a conventional drive unit. The result is a more open, neutral performance that delivers voices and instruments with precision and transparency.
The 700 S3 range features a curved front baffle for the first time. This allows the midrange and bass drivers to be located in individual pod-type housings that sit proud of the speaker baffle. When combined with the curvature of the structure, this advanced approach – derived from the 800 Series Diamond – reduces the audible impact of the cabinet, creating a cleaner, more open and more immersive sound.
