True Reference Premiere Acoustics: Using the same acoustic components and horn material as Klipsch's highly acclaimed Reference Premiere box speaker line, the Professional Reference Premiere Architectural series perfectly combines the aesthetics of an architectural speaker with the pure performance and dynamic voicing of the Reference Premiere series. With a 6.5" Cerametallic woofer and a 1" Titanium Dome Tweeter mated to a composite coated round Tractrix horn, the Pro-160RPC brings dynamic, powerful, detailed Reference Premiere sound to your distributed audio or home Theatre System.
SECUREFIT Installation System: The exclusive modular installation system allows for the dog legs to be engaged by hand to a preset clamping force, eliminating the possibility of over-torqueing, which can lead to breaking the dog leg or cracking the drywall. The speaker module is then screwed to the bezel (using machine screws instead of traditional drywall screws) for a more robust, acoustically stable installation than the competition.
Bezel-Free Magnetic Grille: A completely redesigned powder-coated magnetic steel grille eliminates the bezel for seamless, pristine integration into the living space. The grille is designed to blend in with even the most luxurious interior designs, so Klipsch include round and square grilles so that your 160RPC's look great right out of the box. Also included is a magnetic PVC paint shield that can be used to cover the speaker module to protect it from paint or construction dust during renovations or remodels.
Our Take On The PRO-160RPC
At first glance, these in-ceiling speakers may seem a little light on power handling. The maximum input is 50 Watts RMS but take a look at the efficiency and you will see it is an amazingly high 96dB! This is anywhere up to 7dB higher than many other available products. The benefit is that you can even get very loud sound from a low powered ampifier or AV Receiver. And if you have a higher powered model, then you simply do not have to turn up the volume to rock the house! Your amp/AV Receiver will run 'cooler' and allow more 'current' for the other speakers in your system. Same deal with multi-room systems.
