About The Onkyo DX-C390 6 Disc Carousel CD Player

Music lovers rejoice! Those looking for the ultimate in CD playback from an audiophile grade component will be impressed with high-precision VQA (Vector Quantizer Audio DAC Technology) and 128 x oversampling. Others looking for convenience will thrill at the sight of 6-disc capability, 6 repeat modes, 40 track programming and no worries about interruptions to your music with the ability to change 5 discs while the last one is still playing. All will marvel at crystal clear playback enhanced by Onkyo's exclusive VLSC (Vector Linear Shaping Circuitry) for a smoother sounding audio signal and Direct Digital Path, a heavily shielded, high-quality cable to protect that same delicate audio signal from noise emitted by the surrounding circuits. Housed in a sturdy chassis graced with a brushed aluminium front panel, the DX-C390 is ready to provide hours of uninterrupted music for the soundtrack to your life.

6 Disc Carousel Design: Six bays translates to six discs at a time. Even while one disc is playing, you can load and remove the other discs without interrupting playback. The format of each loaded disc is conveniently displayed as an icon on the front display. The ultra-quiet, efficient loading mechanism makes changing discs a simple exercise.

VLSC™ (Vector Linear Shaping Circuitry): Conventional D/A conversion methods reduce digital pulse noise at the conversion stage but can't remove it completely. VLSC employs a unique D/A conversion circuit to overcome this problem. Data is converted between sampling points and these points are joined with analogue vectors in real time to produce a smooth output wave form. The result - a virtually noiseless, smooth, analogue signal based on the digital source that brings out even the most subtle of nuances in music sources.

About Onkyo

Takeshi Godai established Onkyo in 1946 with the intention of addressing what he felt was a lack of satisfactory Japanese-made dynamic speakers. The word "onkyo" means "sound acoustics" in Japanese.

Through the years that followed Onkyo became expert at many types of AV products including a crystal cartridge, meticulously crafted speakers (including the first plastic speaker cones in Japan), desktop transistor radios and even televisions. In 1958 Onkyo was among the first to introduce separate components rather than the all-in-one furniture style systems that had been so popular up until then. Portable transistor radios followed in 1961 & medical equipment in 1963. In the 70's the Integra line of electronics was established which has been amazingly successful over the years. Turntables followed and then Onkyo released the world's first high-speed dual-recording cassette deck in 1981 followed by some of the first CD Players a couple of years later. 1992 saw the release of the world's first 6 disc carousel type CD player (just so you know who to blame) which became a big trend in the 90's. This is also the decade home theatre happened and Onkyo immediately became one of the prominent players with the world's first THX 5.1 channel AV Receiver with Dolby Digital.

Since then, Onkyo has continued to be at the forefront of Audio Visual technology, bringing high class audio and vision into thousands of homes in Australia and across the globe.

Our Take On The Onkyo DX-C390

As our General Manager so eloquently put it when he heard the news "let the world know the multi disc CD Player is back YEAH BABY", it is fair to say we have been sorely missing a multi disc CD Player for a while now. There are still oodles of people with loads of CD's and many of them like to put a bunch of music on and relax for a few hours before coming back to update the selection. And this player lets you change 5 of the discs while the 6th one is still playing. Magic! For those people, this Onkyo DX-C390 is exactly what you've been looking for but couldn't find for the last few years. We have masses of stock instore right now because we know how popular this little beauty will be. Place your order today and get those CD's a crankin'.
