About The Ortofon Stylus 5E
Ortofon has always been working with sound reproduction. It was founded in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1918 and initially made soundtracks for movies. In 1948 Ortofon developed its first moving coil cartridge, since then more than 300 different cartridges have been developed and manufactured.
The Ortofon Stylus 5E is the replacement stylus for many late model Ortofon cartridges and hundreds of vintage turntables and cartridges from dozens of other manufacturers. This stylus features a polished elliptical diamond tip for long playing life, excellent tracing of record grooves and superb rendition of voice and music. The stylus is an original Made in Denmark by one of the largest and most popular world brands. So don't spoil the performance of your Ortofon Cartridge with anything less than an original Ortofon replacement stylus.
Upgrade Option: If you have something more than a budget turntable, then upgrade to either an Ortofon Stylus 10 or Ortofon Stylus 20 stylus. They will both fit perfectly and can 'track' the record at lower stylus pressures than the Stylus 5E.

Ortofon OM Stylus History Chart
Below is a chart that denotes which Ortofon stylii were sold with which Ortofon cartridges, past and present. However, keep in mind that all these stylii are interchangeable. For example, if you have an old Ortofon TM 7U cartridge, you can order an Ortofon Stylus 20 or Stylus 30 and they will fit perfectly. Yes, there are differences in the respective anatomies of these cartridges, but upgrading the stylus will yield better sonic results.
