Rotel Diamond Series DT-6000 CD Player
The Rotel Diamond Series DT-6000 DAC Transport celebrates Rotel's 60-Year history delivering performance, passion and value synonymous with the brands Japanese heritage. The DT-6000 supports Coaxial, Optical and PC-USB inputs as well as an integrated CD Player for the ultimate flexibility playing your favourite sources rendering digital audio with dynamic precision and authentic accuracy.
The DT-6000's critical Digital to Analogue circuits utilises an ESS Sabre 8-Channel ES9028PRO DAC dedicating 4 channels each to the Left and Right stereo outputs. The DACs multi-channel processing delivers unprecedented details with an ultra-low noise floor through fully differential circuits resulting in an immersive, expansive sound stage.
Dedicated power supplies feed all critical circuits driven by an in-house manufactured low-emission shielded toroidal transformer with high efficiency, low ESR slit-foil smoothing capacitors delivering ripple free current. Physical circuit board isolation techniques and electronic decoupling design methods result in lower residual noise and reduced distortion in the sensitive analogue stages including the external DAC output filters.
The Coaxial and Optical inputs support PCM audio up to 24-bit/192kHz with the asynchronous PC-USB input rendering up to 32-bit/384kHz high resolution music files. The PC-USB also supports MQA and DSD 4X and is certified Roon Tested for the highest compatibility with Roon software.
The smooth action tray loading CD player utilises Rotel's formidable 30-years of experience engineering and manufacturing award winning disc spinners. The industrial design includes a spring-floating CD mechanism with damping materials to reduce mechanical noise and vibrations during playback. Precision motor controls and the optical laser pick-up extract every nuance and detail from CD collections both large and small.
Front panel controls and a back-lit IR remote provide intuitive operation of the unit with playback status, music file stream details and CD Metadata shown on the 2-line display. The RS232, 12V trigger and external remote input ensure simplified integration with all popular control systems.
About Rotel
One of the most revered names in audio, Rotel is still privately-owned by the original family that founded it in the 1960s. No small feat in this day and age. Also extremely rare in this industry, the Rotel headquarters house all aspects of the brand in one place from the CEO through to the marketing team, production-line technicians and warehousing.
Rotel is well-known as a family run business in the most fundamental definition of the phrase. Fostering a collaborative environment where everyone's ideas are heard and the entire company can work seamlessly under one roof as a cohesive team. Using zero outsourcing, each and every Rotel amplifier and component is hand assembled and stress-tested in-house by a small, dedicated team of skilled technicians.
With this wonderful heritage it's really no wonder Rotel components are so great to use and listen to. And we're not the only ones to think so as Rotel products have received hundreds of international awards and made lots of customers very happy all around the world.
Our Take On The Rotel Diamond Series DT-6000
Rotel has proven themselves time and time again to be masters of their art by crafting some of the finest home audio components money can buy. Their engineering expertise lets them make awesome gear, and it also lets them offer that gear at a great price. The Diamond-series DT-6000 is the latest processing powerhouse in the company's audiophile portfolio. This DAC and CD player combo sports a classic-yet-timeless appearance. Underneath all the eye candy is a top-of-the-line digital-to-analogue converter chip, custom-made power supply, and precision-engineered CD tray that work together to provide exceptional depth and detail to your favourite tunes.
The ESS Sabre ES9028PRO inside the DT-6000 is one of the most cutting-edge DAC chips available. Rotel tweaked the eight-channel DAC to split its processing evenly, with four processing channels being dedicated to the left output channel and the other four being dedicated to the right. Its balanced output uses differential circuitry to keep noise to an absolute minimum. The end result is beautifully nuanced and detailed sound. Rotel over-engineered each of the DT-6000's power supplies to keep its noise floor low. Every critical circuit gets its own dedicated power supply, and each circuit was tailor-made by Rotel for maximum performance. As if that wasn't already enough, there's also a shielded toroidal transformer that provides efficient, ripple-free current to each power supply.
The CD tray and transport are the culmination of Rotel's decades of crafting award-winning disc spinners. The tray's smooth in-and-out action is great, and once the disc starts spinning, that's where the magic really happens. Rotel designed the CD tray with a unique spring-floating mechanism and vibration-damping materials to reduce operational noise. It also has a precision laser motor and optical pickup for perfectly and accurately reading all your standard CDs
The back panel of the DT-6000 has just about every connection one could need, no matter one's system. It has a coaxial digital and an optical digital input for hooking up digital sources, plus a Type-B USB port for hooking up your desktop or laptop. There's even an RS-232 port for external control from a compatible computer or device. You're covered on outputs, too. There's a pair of unbalanced stereo RCAs and balanced stereo XLRs for tying the DT-6000 in with the rest of your system.
