New DAC Enables 32-Bit Operations: Digital PCM signal input is processed at 32-bit and converted to analogue by the DAC, while DSD signal input during direct mode is natively input to the DAC and converted to an analogue signal.
Improved Analogue Power For DAC: The DAC analogue power supply uses a low-noise power supply IC to ensure that hi-fidelity performance is achieved.
Buffer Amp For DAC: A new DAC analogue output filter circuit was designed utilizing a JFET and op-amp improvement in noise floor. The phase rotation was shifted to a higher frequency, expanding the bandwidth and improving sound clarity for wide-bandwidth sources like high-resolution audio.
Sony Exclusive Pre-Amp Integrated Circuit: A Sony-exclusive integrated circuit was developed to improve all amplification functions of the STR-AN1000. The pre-amp is independently connected to each individual amplifier channel, improving channel separation and reducing internal interference over more traditional cascading designs.

Our Take On The Sony STR-AN1000
As with any home theatre receiver there's a lot going on. A lot of what the Sony STR-AN1000 has to offer is similar to other high quality receivers we sell but Sony has added its own unique features to the STR-AN1000. The area we think most people will get excited about is the wireless functionality. First up, it has 2-way Bluetooth which means you can not only stream audio to it from a smart device but also receive audio to Bluetooth headphones for the ultimate in private listening. And, it has the provision to add wireless subwoofers and surround speakers. Yes, you read that correctly! Sony has a choice of two wireless rear surrounds, the SA-RS3S & SA-RS5 which means you can put them anywhere you want around the room and not have to run wires to them. Then there are the subwoofers. Again Sony has two wireless subwoofers, the SA-SW3 and SA-SW5 and you can hook up two of them together if desired for more even and dynamic bass. This sort of flexibility is completely unique and will have a lot of people very interested in this model. Naturally, being a Sony, the attention to sound quality has been intense and we believe this receiver to be an audio star in its price range. Talking of price, feature for feature, we think the Sony STR-AN1000 is a bargain and we just hope we can get enough of them to meet demand.
