About The Wharfedale WH-ST1 Speaker Stands
The Wharfedale WH-ST1 Speaker Stands are specifically designed for Wharfedale Diamond speakers but can be used with smaller bookshelf or stand mount speakers from any of our other brands.
Standing at the height of just under 600 mm, the Wharfedale ST1 metalwork is laser cut from high-grade aluminium. This precision design means the stand is solid in stature and the stability is optimised. This considered engineering reduces vibrations and resonance of the speaker's cabinet by effectively isolating the speaker from the floor and surroundings.
The result is substantially improved loudspeaker performance. Keeping things tidy, the Wharfedale ST1 features cable-tidy slots within the construction to allow secure and uncluttered arrangement of your speaker cables.
With a choice of a textured black or white finish, the Wharfedale ST1 loudspeaker stands complement any speaker, in any room, aesthetically and acoustically.
Why Do You Need Speaker Stands? That question is often quickly followed up with another: "Can't they just sit on the floor?" The truth is you can put the speakers wherever you like but the location and positioning absolutely and significantly affect performance. When bookshelf sized speakers are placed on the floor or against a wall their sonic output becomes 'connected' to the floor or walls. This results in sound that is muddy, distorted and lacking in clarity. Speaker stands elevate and isolate speakers from floors and walls. The sound becomes clearer and cleaner with much better imaging and a greater sense of realism.
Timber Floors? No Problems! UK brands Quadraspire and Atacama manufacture what we affectionately call 'spike shoes' that sit under each spike and thus eliminate damage to timber flooring. They can also be used on tile or stone floors. They are an optional extra accessory which we highly recommend. Of course, you can use the included rubber 'buttons' but spikes and spike shoes will deliver superior performance.
How To Make Stands Even Better: These Wharfedale Stands have a hollow front post/tube which can be 'filled' to further dampen vibrations, help minimise unwanted resonances and as a bonus extra, provide added stability. Audio Trends recommend you fill the stands with Atacama Atabites SMD-Z 7.5HD inert filler to achieve maximum sonic performance.
